Scientific Analysis on the Manufacturing Technique of Early Historic Pottery of Bangladesh: Application of Experimental Archaeology

The present study wants to identify the making technique of an early historic pottery type Bangladesh and for this research potshard samples were collected from archaeological excavated site with documented stratigraphic data. used method analysis is known as ‘Polished thin-section’ which now commonly using petrographic in modern world. Another important aspect experiment reproduction same quality object, did successful replication ‘Northern Black Polished ware’ or NBPW. Archaeological scientific still faces challenges because lack proper knowledge absence equipped laboratory. Prepared Thin-section petrography shows that NBPW has possess thin polished surface multi-layered coating. practical experiments by achieving a black colored almost resembled original potsherd Northern Ware. This tells us story vigorous cultural aesthetic behavior well provides information on sustainable decoration.
